I made some the day before yesterday and we still have about two portions left in the fridge. After my fruit this morning, I will have some. I am also planning on making some banana/berry smoothie today because I have berries I need to use and a lot of bananas at home too.
I've been food shopping way too muh the last few days. Spent so much money. That's easily done over here because food is very expensive. So I've decided to try to go a few days eating only the food we already have at home. But what I am allowed to buy is more fruit - but that's it. Have a great day!
Sumny days. Today I'm planning on taking my son to the beach. We live just a 5 min walk from the beach but I know he would rather stay inside and play his games online. He has turned into a gamer. I was super resistant at first and tried everything, to educate, complaine, put up rules - but now I see how passionate he is about this and how much he knows about it (about compuers too and planning on building his own), so I decided to support him instead. And it feels much better, for the both of us. I've still told him there always needs to bw balance. I had to tell him that yesterday for example when he almost told his friend he can't come somewhere (even tho they had decided to meet several days ago already) because me and him were going to go and buy a part for his computer that he needs. I told him (and maybe in not such a nice tone in his opinion) that there has to be balance and he needs to make sure one interest doesn't overtake his life.
Good news guys! I'm expecting again. Yeee! I haven't told anyone yet, but I trust that my family doesn't really read my blog very often.. haha I'm so excited and I will be so careful. Last time it didn't go well so now I want to do everything right. No stress. Eating well. And taking care of myself. I love kids so much and really wanted this for a long time. This is the beginning of a new adventure and I'm so lucky. It's been 4 months since the miscarriage and I hadn't even really gotten my period back. It was just some brownish water that came out of me last month, no 'real' period.
So happy.. Wish me luck with this!

A lot of things happened today and we have been so busy. Finally about to eat.Benji has his food and I will sit down and cut fruits for me. Peaches, kiwi, mango... mmmmm... so good.

I would say that most schools these days are trying and they are aware of the problem. but because of limited funds they can only do so much.
But I totally agree that chocolate milk or an orange juice and mac and cheese is just not what a child should grow up on to live a long disease free life.
This trip to Madrid has really turned out to be an amazing experience! People are so friendly and helpful and they very much seem to like children too! A family oriented place for sure. Lots of parks and playgrounds for kids. And the food choices are great! Even for vegans. My son is of course complainong a little, he says he doesn't understand the point of sightseeing. He says if we can look at a picture of video of a place or buildong or palace online, then what's the point of going to see it - it's anyway the same! Hm. I didn't really agree with him on that one - ha! Nevertheless, we are enjoying ourselves.
This subject is so important and good for kids to learn as early as possible so a new generation can grow up without all the candies and sodas that are making people so sick.
I like 'Nutrition Fun with Brocc and Roll' and 'Good Enough to Eat' is another one. Many more too, I mention on the books page of this site.
Do you like visting new cities and places? I do. And my son loves it too.
We are in Madrid, Spain right now! Just landed. It's hot but such a friendly and positive vibe! We are taking a taxi to our airbnb and then let's see what else we will decide to do the rest of the day.
I know I want to check out a famous raw food restaurant that should be just around the corner from our apartment. They have juices too.

Kids don't move enough though these days. Cars and electronics are to blame. But there are solutions.
How about getting a trampoline? It is a good idea for kids who aren't that interested in being active or going far away from home to do activities.
You could even get a very small one if you don't have a yard and place it in the kid's bedroom or your living room.
Another idea would be to get a few nice balls and start playing ball with them. Volleyball or softball or anything fun.
Some kids might even like more quiet activities like yoga or kung fu for kids that's very playful.
My son is back and now we are both on a trip together! We have a layover in Milan. It is busy but a fashion capital, for sure. Lots of fancy shops. Benji would appreciate being spending more time here now than back when he was a baby, okay maybe not a baby but he was 3 years. Not that he disliked it at all, he was always happy wherever mommy was.
What we did in Milan when he was only three? We were visiting the main cathedral and we walked around and went into a lot of designer stores. We had good food. And when I had some meetings, my mom took him to lake Como and had some relaxing time over there.
Someone asked about anger management for kids. If you have a cute little tantrum monster at home, it does sound like a good idea, Maybe it would be good to get a book on that subject and start to teach your child how to manage his anger.
But also what helps sometimes is to closely look at what it is that angers you child the most and when it usually happens. Keep a log - write down when it happens, what triggered it and what happened. That way you can check the frequency and you might notice after a while that the tantrums are getting further apart. Because children go through so many stages.
Also look at how you react to the anger and change it up. Your child might also start to change his behavior as a result!
where people wanted to buy houses in Hawaii. With 13 climate zones all in one and lots of fruit trees it seems great. Because of the fresh fruit availability I'm sure it's easy to feed yourself and the kids healthy throughout the trip. Wow, what an island. Would love to visit one day. I'm sure it's a child friendly place.
If you have to buy kids candy, go for the less harmful ones.
Today I was shopping, was sitting an hour or so in the sun and now I'm going home to relax.
I bought vegan chocolate that I will send to Benji, and maybe when he gets the package he will miss me too!
It was 40% cocoa with rice milk (2 of those) and one darker chocolate nougat (with a lot of hazelnut). Doesn't sound too bad.
I was in town earlier and accidentally left my keys in a fruit store! Good thing my son was home so I didn't have to go back to get them anymore today. I will have to go back there tomorrow to ask if they have seen them. At the moment I'm resting on the couch. It's a hot day here in Malta. I'm thinking of the watermelon I will start cutting up soon, about how good it will taste. I'm too lazy to get up and do it yet though. And soon I need to start organizing and washing clothes for the trip. I guess it's doable. Hope you are doing well over there!

This time he is visiting my mom. And omg. I just spoke to mom n Benji to say good night and they just casually told me that they all have decided that Benji will stay there longer.
And here I am expecting him to come home on Friday.. I mean I'm glad he is having a good time but I will and do really miss him.
Every time I walk past his room or even the table I'm like, he is supposed to be there.

Ants all over my house! We live on the second floor so you would think not too many bugs find their way into our home - wrong! We have these small black ants that seems to live here as much as we do!
I cannot leave any fruit or food out for more than 10 minutes and they will be walking around the plate trying to climb up on it.

So I started researching on what to do and found out that peppermint oil and tea tree oil is something they don't like and they apparently loose their trail and can't smell if those oil are on all surfaces. I have been feasting on figs for many days now, and today I found a lot of peach trees! All different types of peaches! Never knew there were so many varieties. One was quite small with purple skin and purple flesh. Such an amazing 'peachy' taste that I'm sure you would be as happy as I m right now if you would be here. Oh my. This is heaven.
