Healthy vegetarian meals for kids - Awesome meals you don't want to miss! Also vegan and gluten free.
I hope you and your kids are having a great summer. It's hot where I am. Kids are out of school and enjoyong. My son likes to be inside more than outside, he is a young adult already so I don't expect him to run around oitside like all the 7 year olds in the neighborhood. But a little more fresh air wouldn't hurt. I'm planning on taking a forest walk later on today. It's not as hot in the middle of all that greenery.
I'm traveling! I will be keeping to my healthy ways - in style. I took a lot of cool clothes with me so i'll be a stylish mama!
We still have some snow up here but today it has been raining a lot. So I believe spring is on its way. No leaves on the trees yet but they will be coming soon, I'm sure. Life is good!

The roads are full of snow and I am sitting in thr bus on my way to work having bananas and thinking of banana trees and sunshine somewhere far away! Phew! That was the longest sentence I've written in a while! Hope you are doing very well, wherever you are! Hugs!
Today I made some yummy veggie burgers for dinner. I ended up changing the recipe a bit because I added beetroot to the dough. I loved how they turned out but my son asked why I had done it. He said I know he doesn't like beetroot! But he still ate. He must have been very hungry!
If you have any child health questions, go ahead and post them here. Baby health questions and questions on nutrition are also most welcome.
Family day! The one day a week most families do something together. What are you planning to do? Going to the park? Shopping? A party? My son doesn't want to do anything but stay home. He says the weekdays are rough the way they are so when the weekend comes he just wants to hibernate haha or let's say relax as much as possible. Teens... I would have liked to go and see a movie with him. Oh well. Maybe I'll cook something nice and healthy instead.
What's up? All going well with the kids? I have four friends who have a bit of a hard time in their marriages at the moment.. all at the same time! Maybe it's the winter.. I hope for them that it gets better soon.. and for the children. Hope at your house everything is good and peaceful. Lots of hugs!
Is it also snowing where you are? Here it is - like crazy! Our house looks like an igloo - haha, totally snow covered! It is not that cold outside though so that makes an ideal environment for play! With the right clothes on there is so much fun to be had out there in that beautiful snow! Come on, let's have some fun!
I hope the new year has started well for you and your family! I really feel that this year is going to be an amazing one. Last year was a hard one. And even this one started a little rough with me an my son having to stay at a temporary apartment for a few days (an apartment for those in crisis situations), but it's okay. We are moving into a new house the day after tomorrow. I am really looking forward.
Did you hear about the latest study on kids and internet use? It said that max 2 hours a day is acceptable for older children. And even just half an hour for those under 2 can be bad for them. They also talked about zombie children, those who spend more than 5 hours a day watching videos or playing online games. Hm... something to think about.
Off to the store to buy a lot of healthy vegan food for the home! It is good to do some big shopping once in a while to make it easier the other days. I need coconut sugar, nuts, fruits, chia seeds, coconut milk and a lot more
Pets are great to have in a family. The children have an other soul to give their love to. A being that's always there, no matter what. A being that can never be angry at them and shows them unconditional love. A perfect friend.
We had a dog named Dennis when I was small and several guinea pigs and a hamster.
When my son was 10 years old my sister bought him a guinea pig. My son named him Knut. He quickly became an important member of our family. Very smart little thing. He would communicate his needs so clearly. And he wanted love allll the time. I feel so guilty that I wasn't quick to bring him to the doctor when he started losing teeth after a few years. And he passed away, too early. That little furry thing, full of joy. Then he was gone. And we cried. It was empty without him. My son didn't want another pet after that.
Finding healthy food to make for your children when you are on a budget is tough! This weekend I don't have much money because of a huge bill I had to pay, and for someone who is used to buying lot of fresh produce, it's not easy at all.. My son didn't like my risotto and now he is asking for 'real' food. I just don't have the possibility to buy any at the moment. He will have to wait until Monday. I was able to buy some tangerines and plums though today which will be helpful. And I have a lot of carrots at home and some onions, so tomorrow I will be making carrot and onion soup.
The fall has arrived and soon it's Halloween! I bet your kids are excited! I saw one episode of the 70's Show where that mother with blonde hair gave raisins to kids knocking on her door. She said "Nature's candy!" - the kids weren't very pleased and threw eggs at her door. But she did have a point. Why all this candy? Let's try to find some healthier alternatives this year.

Nutrition for young children - it's important to plan and think about how your kids eat...
My son has a flu and I am starting to feel like I might have one too. I gave him some olive leaf extract today and I will give him some tomorrow too. It's nature's antibiotic - great for the immune system. Some fasting would also be great now that this flu has arrived to our home, but a 16 year old isn't always that open to do things like that, and me? Well, I would love to but just found out I'm pregnant. After many weeks of fruit fasting. Now I'm vegan and as raw as podsible. Some days still only fruit and green powders.
I never new I could feel this tired.. like an invisible cloud is above my head and in front of my eyes and follows me around all day. Pressing against me. So weird. Never flet like this before. I just want to sleep. If I could, that's what I woukd do almost all day and night.
Always nice with a mini holiday. Walking barefoot in the sun.. but it was hard to get my son to come with me. It's difficult with teenagers sometimes.. At the moment he is only interested in gaming. I must admit that I don't like that at all. This is such a huge problem these days.. technology addiction.
Chia pudding is so easy to make and it's so healthy! With all those berries and the nut milk and the omega oils in the seeds... super good for you and the kids!
I made some the day before yesterday and we still have about two portions left in the fridge. After my fruit this morning, I will have some. I am also planning on making some banana/berry smoothie today because I have berries I need to use and a lot of bananas at home too.
I've been food shopping way too muh the last few days. Spent so much money. That's easily done over here because food is very expensive. So I've decided to try to go a few days eating only the food we already have at home. But what I am allowed to buy is more fruit - but that's it. Have a great day!
Sumny days. Today I'm planning on taking my son to the beach. We live just a 5 min walk from the beach but I know he would rather stay inside and play his games online. He has turned into a gamer. I was super resistant at first and tried everything, to educate, complaine, put up rules - but now I see how passionate he is about this and how much he knows about it (about compuers too and planning on building his own), so I decided to support him instead. And it feels much better, for the both of us. I've still told him there always needs to bw balance. I had to tell him that yesterday for example when he almost told his friend he can't come somewhere (even tho they had decided to meet several days ago already) because me and him were going to go and buy a part for his computer that he needs. I told him (and maybe in not such a nice tone in his opinion) that there has to be balance and he needs to make sure one interest doesn't overtake his life.
Good news guys! I'm expecting again. Yeee! I haven't told anyone yet, but I trust that my family doesn't really read my blog very often.. haha I'm so excited and I will be so careful. Last time it didn't go well so now I want to do everything right. No stress. Eating well. And taking care of myself. I love kids so much and really wanted this for a long time. This is the beginning of a new adventure and I'm so lucky. It's been 4 months since the miscarriage and I hadn't even really gotten my period back. It was just some brownish water that came out of me last month, no 'real' period.
So happy.. Wish me luck with this!
